The Gorgeous German Towns of Heidelberg, Speyer and Schweitzinger, 2009

Share
Following a very successful meeting with the CIOs of the world's largest Pharma, Medical Devices and Bio-Tech companies at the 6th Life Sciences Executive Council orchestrated by me for my company at its headquarters in Walldorf, I took some time off to check out three lovely towns in Germany close to Frankfurt.

Heidelberg, that I have visited many a time, is my favorite city in Germany. I am overwhelmed by the natural beauty of this majestic city with the well-preserved remains of its magnificent Palace and Castle ("Schloss Heidelberg") perched on the hills, overlooking the river Necker- this truly invokes Grimm's Fairy Tales for me!

I also had the opportunity of checking out a couple of beautiful little towns in close proximity to Heidelberg. Speyer ("The Tuscany of the North") is gorgeous and boasts of an impressive Gothic Cathedral while Schweitzinger, the home of the famed white asparagus also has an impressive palace reminiscent of the Chateau Versailles on the outskirts of Paris.
