Memoirs of our Indian adventure across Saputara and Mahabaleshwar, August, 2010

A Musical Photo-Montage of our Vacation in India in Saputara and Mahabaleshwar in August 2010, with my Father and Aunt (who lives in and travelled with us from NYC).....

SAPUTARA (literally, "the abode of Serpents") is a lush green and still fairly pristine hill-station, on the borders of Gujarat and Maharashtra, perched on the Sahyadri Mountain range. The gorgeous picturesque landscapes of the valley and lake below, enveloped in the fog, almost gave a perception of "close proximity to the Abode of the Gods", that was fairly surreal.

MAHABALESHWAR, perched on the Western Ghats, the erstwhile summer capital of the 'British Raj' of Bombay, brought back fond memories of my summer vacations there as a kid that we sought to re-create with Uma, including the relaxing boat rides on the Lake and numerous often, funny interludes with her simian friends, as will be evident from the photos.
