The Second Annual Recital of the Sri Kalamandir Dance Academy in Dallas saw a number of performances directed by Ms. Krishnaveni Putrevu, the Director of the Academy.
Ganesh Stuthi

Here are a couple of dances performed by Uma and her friends at this recital. Heartfelt thanks to Mr. Jagannath Rath for contributing some excellent photos of Uma, including the one above,

"GANESH STUTHI" - an Odissi fusion dance as an obeisance to Lord Ganesha, choreographed and directed by Ms. Krishnaveni Putrevu.

'BATTU" -  A dance piece offered to the Lord of Dance - Lord Shiva ("Nataraja") in his ‘Batuka Bhairava’ form. The interrelationship between temple sculptural art and Odissi dance is established with an array of sculpturesque poses taken directly from the innumerable dancing sculptures adorning the temples of Orissa.
